LYSOBACT DUO® contains two active substances called lysozyme hydrochloride and cetylpyridine chloride. It belongs to a group of medicines acting on the respiratory system– preparations for treating throat diseases.

LYSOBACT DUO® is used for:

  • Local treatment of acute inflammatory diseases of the mouth and throat mucosa, such as gingivitis (gum disease), stomatitis (inflammation of the mouth cavity mucosa) and aphthae (small wounds on the mouth mucosa).
  • Adjuvant therapy in sore throat and painful swallowing and inflammation of the tonsils and the throat.
  • Upon doctor’s recommendation, before and after surgery (of the tonsils, throat), in injuries and abscesses, and after tooth extraction.

Tell your doctor if you are taking other medicines, have some chronic illness, a metabolism disorder, if you are hypersensitive to medicines or had allergic reactions to some of them.

Do not take LYSOBACT DUO®:

  • If you are hypersensitive to lysozyme hydrochloride, cetylpyridine chloride or any of the excipients.
  • If you are hypersensitive to egg white.
  • If your child is under 6 years of age.

If anything of the a forementioned concerns you, talk to your doctor or pharmacist before taking this medicine.

Be careful with LYSOBACT DUO®

Do not take this medicine for more than 5 days.

Diseases of oral mucosa and part of the throat 

Consult your doctor in case other symptoms appear (elevated temperature, spitting of pus, difficulties swallowing), if these symptoms get worse or if you are not feeling better after 5 days.

 

Aphthae

In case the lesions spread, if they last long or if you have elevated temperature, immediately consult your doctor.

 

This medicine contains sorbitol as sweetener, so it is suitable for diabetics. If your doctor told you that you have a disease of the so-called intolerance to some sugars, consult your doctor before you start taking this medicine.

 

Taking other medicines with LYSOBACT DUO®

Keep in mind that this information may refer to the medicines you are no longer taking, as well as those you plan to take in the future. Inform your doctor if you are taking, or have recently taken another medicine, including the one available without medical prescription.

Do not simultaneously take several medicines containing a local antiseptic.

 

Taking food and drinks with LYSOBACT DUO®

Food and drinks should not influence the efficiency of LYSOBACT DUO®.

 

Pregnancy and lactation

Consult your doctor or pharmacist before you start taking a medicine.

Pregnancy

As a precaution measure, this medicine should not be used during pregnancy.

Lactation

Since there is not enough data on the excretion into breast milk, the medicine should not be used during lactation.

 

Effects on driving and operating machines

This medicine does not affect the ability to drive and use machines.

Dosage

Adults and children over 6 years of age: 

3-6 compressed lozenges a day, with minimum 2-hours intervals between dosages. Compressed lozenges should be left to dissolve in the mouth, best under the tongue.

LYSOBACT DUO® is not intended for use in children under 6 years of age.

 

If you take more LYSOBACT DUO® than you should

If you take larger amount of the medicine than the prescribed one, immediately consult your doctor or pharmacist! 

If you take more medicine than you should, contact your doctor for assistance.

 

 

If you forget to take LYSOBACT DUO® 

If you forget to take the medicine, never take a double dose afterwards, but continue taking the medicine according to the usual schedule.

If you forget to take LYSOBACT DUO®, take it as soon as you remember it. After that, continue taking the medicine according to the usual schedule and as recommended.

 

If you stop taking LYSOBACT DUO®

Take this medicine for as long as was prescribed to you by your doctor.

If you suddenly stop taking this medicine, no harmful effects on your body are to be expected.

If you have any doubts or questions  regarding the use of LYSOBACT DUO®, consult your doctor or pharmacist.

Keep LYSOBACT DUO® out of the reach and sight of children.

Keep at temperature up to 25 °C.

LYSOBACT DUO® must not be used after expiry of the shelf life marked on the packaging.

Shelf life: 24 months.

What LYSOBACT DUO®contains

Each LYSOBACT DUO®compressed lozenge contains lysozyme hydrochloride 20.00 mg corresponding to 800 000 FIP units and cetylpyridine chloride 1.50 mg.

LYSOBACT DUO® contains the following excipients: Sorbitol (E420), Povidone, Peppermint Flavor, and Magnesium Stearate.

Round, biconvex, white to off white lozenge.
